Underground Power Cables
With the increase of taller buildings, growing populations, and larger cities, it is difficult to rely on overhead transmission lines to the centers of cities. Fujikura provides various underground power cables from conventional paper-insulated power cables widely used for extra-high voltage lines to newest crosslinked polyethylene power cables.

Paper-insulated power cables
Paper-insulated, oil-filled power cables have a long history of wide application among extra-high voltage power cables. Since 1934, Fujikura has been supplying a quantity of oil-filled cables and installing them worldwide.

Aluminum-sheathed Oil-Filled Cables
Aluminum-sheathed oil-filled cables are used as underground power transmission cables. These cables have good mechanical properties and a large earth fault current rating capacity.

Lead-sheathed Oil-Filled Cables
Lead-sheathed oil-filled cables are used in heavy-duty environments requiring good anti-chemical characteristics, protects cable insulation from water and damaging substances. Care should be taken, the lead sheath is not resistant to mechanical shocks.

Three-core Oil-Filled Cables
Three-core oil-filled cables have good compaction factor, and are an excellent conductor of stable electric power in harsh marine environments.

Pipe-type Oil-Filled Cables
The first installation of 66kV high-pressure pipe-type oil-filled cable (HPOF) in Japan was made by FUJIKURA in 1964. By 1971 FUJIKURA has greatly developed this technology and made the first long distance installation of 275kV HPOF cable in Tokyo Bay.

Oil-Filled Submarine Cables
Oil-filled cables have been used as submarine power transmission cables for years. The high reliability has set operation records through out the world. The conductor temperature is higher than that of mass-impregnated cables, allowing for larger power transmission.




Mass-impregnated Paper Insulating Submarine Cables
Mass-impregnated paper insulation cables do not need oil-feeding system. Therefore this stype of cable is maily applied for long distance submarine cable.
